Building bridges…

Happy New Year everyone! After spending several days trying to raise the bridge at the bottom of White Beck with a block and tackle, ratchet straps and finally a car jack, I am please to say the bridge is now off the river bed and back in position.

Whilst I have got everything back in place, I intend to put chicken wire along the bridge to improve grip on what is a very slippery surface. I have also taken the opportunity to remove all the rusty fencing wire out of the water and give the stream a good tidy.

It seems there is new fencing in place right up to the wall now, so I plan to build a stile in the corner by the footbridge to ensure we still enjoy good access in the future.
